Yes xbox, Many problems with the xbox 360 wired controller starting from freezing/hanging to the fragile cable. In my case here it freezes/hangs when I am playing the Story of Season AWL game, when fishing or passing through the fence. Very unpleasant, right?! even the games I play cause freezes.
Yes, maybe because the version is outdated and also cheap, around $38 on US Amazon or in my place here in Indonesia it is only around $10. so it has limitations. Well, when I talk about freeze/hang here it is when the controller is on but cannot be pressed in the game and then the game character repeats what we last pressed on the controller. Therefore, here I have tested the xbox 360 wired controller.

1. Controller calibration
The first thing I tested was to calibrate the controller using the command, press Windows Logo + R then type joy.cpl then the calibration will appear (see image 1-1).
then press Properties on the calibration display, then 2 tabs will appear (see image 1-2).
select the first tab which is the Settings section, then click Calibration follow the instructions given. If all procedures are successful then the controller is safe. Now next we go to the second tab which is the Tests tab. Check your controller buttons periodically.
2. Controller vibration/Game vibration
Here I have thought many times what causes it to freeze/hang?! I tried to recreate the freeze/hang and found something odd when just passing through the fence or when fishing.
Well every time I do both of these things the controller always vibrates and then freezes/hangs. So I focused my attention on the controller vibration, in the Story of Season AWL game there is a Vibration on/off option then I turned off the vibration and found that the problem was in the game vibration option because of that the game/controller became freeze/hang. Just turn off the vibration and the game you are playing will run smoothly again.

For Linux users, you can use the website onlinemictest.com/controller-tester to check your controller (I haven't tried it. I hope Linux users can. If you can, please confirm in the comments column, okay!!.) To solve the problem, see the vibration options on Windows.
If the game you are playing does not have the vibration on/off option then there are 2 ways you can follow!!
- Remove the controller Vibrator by soldering it.
- Buy a new controller. Of course a different brand, if you buy another xbox controller with the latest version then there are other problems such as firmware upgrades and others. Here I do not hate xbox products!! if your favorite controller is xbox then you must be prepared to accept xbox controller problems.
